Our Vision and Mission Statement

Vision Statement - Chesapeake City United Methodist Charge: a community growing and flowing with God's love.

Mission Statement - The mission of Chesapeake City United Methodist Charge is to build bridges by growing with Christ, uniting in fellowship, and serving faithfully.

The Great Commission - Matthew 28: 16-20 (NIV)

Then  the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had  told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some  doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and  on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all  nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of  the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded  you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Who We Are

Chesapeake City United Methodist Charge at Trinity (CCUMC) offers worship services that appeal to folks of all ages. Our traditional service features classic hymns, prayer and special music from our talented choir, pianist and soloists. Our contemporary worship service features our inspiring praise and worship band, Jacob's Well Band (JWB), that allows you to worship and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in an open, contemporary style.  Both  services feature Scripture Reading, a strong message from Pastor Sam, a  children's message, and often times, a skit or God-inspired video to  help drive home the Lord's Word and Message for the week. We encourage children of all ages to attend our services no matter how young.  We  firmly believe He will plant the seeds of Faith in our children that  will soon take root and sow the seeds of righteousness as they grow into  adults.

What We Believe as a Methodist Church

The  mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus  Christ for the transformation of the world by proclaiming the good news  of God's grace and by exemplifying Jesus' command to love God and  neighbor, thus seeking the fulfillment of God's reign and realm in the  world. The fulfillment of God's reign and realm in the world is the  vision Scripture holds before us. The United Methodist Church affirms  that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the  Lord of all. As we make disciples, we respect persons of all religious  faiths and we defend religious freedom for all persons. Jesus' words in  Matthew provide the Church with our mission: "Go therefore and make  disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and  of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything  that I have commanded you" (28:19-20), and "You shall love the Lord your  God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your  mind. . . . And you shall love your neighbor as yourself" (22:37, 39).
